ABOUT THE MENZINGERS

The Menzingers was formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania in 2006 when its members Greg Barnett (vocals, guitar), Tom May (vocals, guitar), Eric Keen (bass), and Joe Godino (drums) were still teenagers. The band came after fellow Scranton ska-punk/pop-punk bands Bob and the Sagets (featuring Tom May, Joe Godino, Eric Keen, and non-Menzingers members Lee Hartney & Curtis Irie, currently of Irie Idea) and Kos Mos (featuring Greg Barnett, Adam McElwee of Tigers Jaw and Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, and Leo Vergnetti of Captain, We're Sinking). That year, the band recorded a demo, which was a critical hit, making it onto several of the year’s ‘Top 10’ lists.

CAREER

The band released its debut album, A Lesson in the Abuse of Information Technology, on Go-Kart Records in 2007. This was followed in 2009 by the four-track EP Hold On Dodge, which was released on vinyl through Red Scare Industries. This led to a stint in early-2010 supporting Anti-Flag on tour. On April 13, 2010, the band released its second studio album, Chamberlain Waits. The album was ranked as Exclaim!'s number eight Punk Album of 2010 and Punknews.org's number one Album of 2010. Throughout March and April, they support Against Me! and during May and June 2010, the band supported Title Flight on their US tour.

The Menzingers signed to Epitaph Records on May 17, 2011. Of the signing,  Brett Gurewitz, founder of Epitaph Records and guitarist of Bad Religion said: "These guys play the kind of pure punk rock that I grew up with. They are seriously talented songwriters and I'm happy to welcome them to the Epitaph family. I think the band is a great fit here."

On the Possible Past, the band’s critically acclaimed third studio album, was released in February 2012. On the Impossible Past went on to be voted "Album Of The Year" 2012 by Absolutepunk.net, Punknews.org, and Spanish magazine RockZone.

In November 2013, The Menzingers released a split 7" EP with The Bouncing Souls. A new album, Rented World, was released on April 22, 2014. The album was included at number 22 on Rock Sound's "Top 50 Albums of the Year" list and at number 25 on Kerrang!'s "The Top 50 Rock Albums Of 2014" list. The album also reached number one on Billboard’s Vinyl Albums chart.

Throughout 2014 and 2015, the band toured North America, Europe, and Australia with a variety of acts as both support and a headline act, including The Smith Street Band, Off With Their Heads, Lemuria, Chumped, Taking Back Sunday, mewithoutYou, Pianos Become the Teeth, letlive., and others.

On February 3, 2017, the band released its fifth studio album, After the Party, and embarked on a United States tour featuring Jeff Rosenstock and Rozwell Kid. 2018 saw the band release two standalone singles: "Toy Soldier" and "The Freaks".

Hello Exile, The Menzingers’ sixth album, was released on October 4, 2019, on Epitaph Records and the band went on a U.S. headlining tour with Tigers Jaw and Culture Abuse. It was preceded by the singles "Anna", "America (You’re Freaking Me Out)", and "Strangers Forever". From Exile, an acoustic reimagining of their previous album Hello Exile was released on August 5, 2020.
